INTRODUCTION:
First of all I want to thank you for downloading this beta version of Easy Rhythm Generator.
I hope you'll enjoy using this software, and I hope you'll use rhythms build with this tool
in your games which you make in DIV Games Studio. If you don't have DIV Games Studio, you
can order it from http://www.div-arena.com.
Of course this software is not only a handy tool, but also fun to use, so if you don't own
DIV Games Studio yet, then don't delete this software right away, but try it first. You
don't need any drumming skills to have fun out of this software.

BEFORE YOU START:
-You must run setup.exe before you run the program, because you must configure your sound-
card first.
-You should read this documentation as you're doing now
-You must agree with the license included in this readme file

WHAT EVERYTHING IS:
When you start the software (drum.exe) you'll need to wait a few seconds, so the software
can load all the sound/graphic files, and configures some things. Then when you get the
introduction, you can press Enter of Space to skip it if you want.
Now you can begin building a rhythm, but first you'll need to know what everything on the
screen means. First of all you have a scale bar on top of the screen (a small white bar with
black stripes), you can use this to see where you are in the rhythm.
Then you've got an empty gray part on the screen where you can place the elements of the
rhythm (how to do this, we'll mention in a other chapter).
And on the bottom of the screen, you can see 4 menu's: Options, Effects set, Drum set,
Backen set. In the last 3 menu's you can select elements of the rhythm you want to build, by
clicking on the buttons with the name of the element on it.
In the options menu you can configure the following things: the playing speed (how fast the
rhythm should be played), The buffer size (how big the buffer is), Loading/Saving a rhythm
on your hard disk, and you have the play/pause/stop buttons.
You can only save one rhythm, so when you click the save button the previously saved rhythm
will be erased! The loading button will bring back the last saved rhythm.
The play, stop and pause button, will play, stop and pause the rhythm, you also can play and
stop the rhythm by pressing space.
The buffer will be mentioned in a different chapter.

HOW TO BUILD A RHYTHM:
You can build a rhythm by selecting an element in one of the menu's, and then clicking on
the empty part of the screen. You can delete an element out of the rhythm, by clicking on
it with your right mouse button.
The empty part of the screen, is the part between the scale bar and the menu's.

THE BUFFER:
It is possible that when you play a rhythm that some elements will not be played because
your computer is to slow. In this case you should make the buffer larger (in the options
menu). It is also possible that rhythms become chaotic because one element is started twice
in this case you should make the buffer smaller.

LISENCE:
This software is copyrighted, so you may not copy it without the authorization of Pieter-Bart
van Splunter.
The source in this software is included so you can use the rhythms you build in this tool in
your own projects. You may not change the tool and publish it as if you made it by your
self. If you change anything in the program, you may not copy it to any other data system,
unless it is intended to be a backup for the system it was edited on.
If you use my rhythms in your projects, I'd like to know (e-mail: pbvs@planet.nl), but
credits are not needed. (of course I'd like to see credits for me in your projects though)
You must have fun out of this software! :-)
